Unable to Log In to Photo.net

I'm logged in via my desktop, running Windows 7 and Firefox. But when I tried to log in via my W10/Firefox laptop, all I get is a blank white screen and I can't log in from there as I normally can. Is the logging in process broken?

It looks pretty serious, to be honest. Time to jump ship?

Ok, should be back - I installed a new certificate. Apologies for it expiring, I've been mostly focusing on migrating to more maintainable infrastructure, didn't have my eye on maintenance. (TL;DR long story, we bit off more than we could chew, always had higher aspirations than money/staff to maintain so site has been on minimal life support. Will be discussing possibilities with our New Friends. I personally consider PN basically as close to "Internet World Heritage Site" as it gets, so still hopeful for bright future. Be patient, you've made it this far. ;-)

Thank you very much. I appreciate your hard work keeping the site running.

Great to hear from someone with hands in the machine room! I appreciate your effort.

A simple reminder on a calendar ought to do the trick. I’ll reserve my thanks until next time.

J, do you monitor photo.net daily or were you given the heads up by Joe at CreativeLive support? How about bringing back some of the old features like Photo of the Day, POTW, etc. I can't imagine CreativeLive likes having their name the top of every page of a partially functioning site. Doesn't add credibility to them or us. Photo.net is one of the great old names of the internet, don't waste it.

CreativeLive likes making money. Any money they’re making here most likely comes from onlookers who encounter the site rather than members with memories for what the site used to be. No one encountering the site today knows what a POTD or a POTW even is, except the relatively few participating older members, which is not the demographic CreativeLive is hoping to get income from. The older members matter insofar as they are the ones providing free content. And the remaining old members have been more than willing to do that even for a malfunctioning site with an administration that shows no sense of care. To the onlookers and new encounters, this is a fully-functioning site, and that appearance is all that matters to get clicks and possible sales of classes, etc. Remember, as good and valuable as the Internet can be, it’s also often a sham that’s helping society destroy itself.

Let's just say that ruthless prioritization is the only reason we survived some very lean times and now have the luxury to be able to discuss the site's future.
