Nikon Wednesday 2021: #40

Note:
In the interests of balancing performance and quality, the topic of image file size and dimensions as normally posted to this recurring thread is under discussion elsewhere in the Nikon forum (the topic is obvious when you look) - please check in there and comment if you have thoughts to share! That's the best place to talk about that particular topic. For now, consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that
this includes photos hosted off-site
(at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you
new to this thread?
The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are
:
. For now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit.

Having barely passed the really-there's-some-Nikon-hardware-involved test last week, I'm being more serious this time. Again, something truly stirring from the romantic world of product photography. But it's trickier than it looks! This thing is small, but the image will be used in some large display prints at the manufacturer. This is JUST the occasion for a tilt-shift macro lens! In this case, a Nikon 85/2.6 T/S on a D810, and presto no need for focus stacking or other tediousness in post. That lens has truly earned its keep. What's everyone else got on this Nikon Wednesday? Show 'em!

But listen to this Nikon statement. "The application of N!C (Nikon Integrated Coating) on the

lens surfaces of the TC-1 and TC -2 assures that the optical performance of the lens in use remains unchanged, with nothing added or subtracted ."

Moss Landing is a little town along the California Central Coast. For those who are familiar with that area, it is about a one-hour drive from Santa Cruz to Monterey, and Moss Landing is more or less in the middle. There are plenty of outdoor activities and wildlife to photograph. In 2019, they constructed the building on the right, apparently intended for a restaurant and some shops. However, the timing was incredibly poor as the tourism economy grinded to a halt due to Covid, and that building has been sitting there, empty, for two years. At least the restaurant next door has re-opened. Their business was quite good when we stopped by last weekend.
