Matt Laur
Note: In the interests of balancing performance and quality, the topic of image file size and dimensions as normally posted to this recurring thread is under discussion elsewhere in the Nikon forum (the topic is obvious when you look) - please check in there and comment if you have thoughts to share! That's the best place to talk about that particular topic. For now, consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. For now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit. Hello all. Hope everyone is taking a moment to share their thoughts on Shun's Nikon Wednesday file size/count discussion, going on in this thread over here. All input is encouraged. In the meantime, I've been busy as a bee. Well, NOT a bee. Apparently it's a Hummingbird Moth that I stumbled across, doing business with a pond-side thistle bloom. Shot anything that you more or less tripped on? Share some images! (maybe even some slightly larger ones!)

Sanford
I call him "the Bicycle Man". He has now completed 10 thousand miles in the last year, mostly riding in a random pattern around the Monterey Plaza for hours at a time. There is a Live Cam that looks at the Plaza and he has developed quite a following. Nikon D50, 50mm Nikkor.

ilkka_nissila
Pori Jazz festival was cancelled first for 2020 but a smaller event was organized in 2021, with mostly jazz musicians from Finland and without the big international pop stars that usually bring in large crowds. The number of people attended was limited but to be honest it did feel crowded at times. Almost no one was wearing masks even though there is quite a bit of delta variant around. Anyway I got some pics. This is of Jussi Lehtonen Quartet. D850, MB-D18, 300/2.8, f/2.8, 1/400 s, ISO 110.
