Film Camera Week for July 16

Recommended Posts

Greetings, all, and welcome to our new thread Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start with some images from a roll of Fomapan 400 that I processed and scanned earlier this week. Camera was Minolta SRT 101 with MD 35-70 f 3.5. For outdoor images a K2 filter was used.

Overpass between Starkville and campus

This is my first time to try Fomapan 400. I processed it in HC110 dilution H. I found it to be slightly grainier than Kentmere 400, but not excessively so. I think a little less developing time might improve it.

Here's an indoor shot (tripod)

The Fomapan as I said probably should be developed less (at least in HC110). I may try another roll or two since the price of bulk is even less than the Kentmere 400 I tried recently.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's images,

Some snaps with more or less classic film cameras:

with Nikon F3 and a short Nikkor telephoto-lens (maybe the 85/1.8H) on Fomapan 200

Nice results from the Fomapan 400, Mike. Does the film present any curling problems when dry? Here are a few from a Nikon F-100 with a 28-80mm Nikkor f/3.5-5.6D lens. The film was Ilford Delta 400 developed in PMK Pyro.

Rick- no curling with the Fomapan 400. After washing the negatives I soaked them for 30 seconds in Kodak Photoflo solution and hung them up to air dry in my darkroom. Possibly during the winter months when humidity is low the film might curl then. My HVAC system includes a vent in my darkroom so the dry heat tends to make some films curl more than others. Thanks for the compliment, as well. I do believe that I should have used a bit less time for developing. At least the grain (more noticeable in the cropped photo) is tight and sharp. Hard to tell from scans, but I often inspect my negatives with a surplus achromat that I keep in the darkroom.

That's a lovely image, Andrew!

I'm trapped inside by relentless winter storms, but here are someimages I managed to shoot in a few hours of clear weather last weekend. It was my first real excursion with the legendary "Beercan", the Minolta 80-210mm f/4, and it lived up to my expectations. The camera was an Minolta Maxxum 7 and the film was Ilford FP4 Plus developed in PMK Pyro.
