What camera(s) are you using this weekend?

Recommended Posts

I used the Minolta SRT 201 with the 50/1.7 Rokkor-X and the dent on the side. Finished the roll of FujiColor 200, and shot part of the roll of Kodak ColorPlus 200. Had fun at an adaptive sports event in Lenoir City, Tennessee on Fort Loudon Lake. The Festival Of Friends. Didn't get to Sit-Ski (SI joint very inflamed, CP not playing nice). Did get to ride the Pontoon Boat, and take photos. Had a blast in spite of having to take precautions.

Lenoir City is where I turn to go to the Smokies.

Contax IIIa w/Zeiss torpedo finder and (new to me) Nikkor 8.5 cm f/2 lens. This is a bit shorter and lighter than the comparable post-war Zeiss Sonnar 85 mm f/2, and feels just right in my hands.1170762056_ContaxIIIaNikkor8.5cmf2.thumb.jpg.117c48b5aacde404c1e77e04f17d019a.jpg

Started a roll in this one earlier in the week and will finish over the weekend.

I will likely use the Minolta 24-50 f 4 MD Rokkor zoom and maybe one of my 135 telephotos. I'm testing some Kentmere 400 to see if I want to invest in a bulk roll. Currently it is just over half the price of Ilford HP5+ and even less than half the price of Tri-X. The meter is accurate in the XE so it's a good camera for testing film.

I have played with the shutter all winter trying to get the charging of the shutter consistent. It isn't but I will wing it anyway. I admired some photos from 10 years ago using this Biometar on "the other" Exa. The other lens is the Flektogon these lenses including the Pancolar. . came together with Varex IIA and all needed service except the Pancolar.

not so much what i am using this weekend.but my latest finds locally.the Canon AE1 was a garage sale find w/50mm 1.8 ssc lens and a case.the X700 Minolta was a throw in as it did not wind.i always keep a selection of batteries in my pocket and when i showed the owner it did not work he gave the camera ,3 lenses , a bag ,the minolta winder for it ,and a remote shutter ,and about 10 rolls of film ( expired )for 20.00 bucks. the AE1 cost me 20.00

the Sunpak 611 Auto was an E-bay find for 9.00 bucks complete woith al the cables ,charger and battery pack that still charges and after testing still changes power output

as described.will be cleaning the camera's and working on the minolta.meter still works and does not die out when you press the shutter all the way so i am thinking a dirty magnet.we'll see.IMG_2483.thumb.JPG.79b87d726d5f7bafffe63625c065512e.JPG IMG_2488.thumb.JPG.4aa4fbae9e034638d675ce71d6d2d911.JPG

Those Dial 35's are fun little cameras, Rick. Great lens and slightly wide angle work well. I used to own the Bell & Howell version (including hard case). Mine was given to me around 1977 or so (it was traded in at my family's camera shop) and it quickly became my carry anywhere camera. I sold mine a few years ago as I wasn't using it much. I wish it still had it. One favorite use for it was to shoot a roll of transparency film and have it returned uncut so it would fit in one of the old filmstrip projectors. Also shot some E4 Ektachrome that I processed at home. Mainly, though, Plus-X and Tri-X.

A few from my Dial 35

I hope to get out with this pretty Kiev-4M with the Helios-103 53mm f/1.8 lens. If the temperature lifts above 5oC...

Another immaculately clean camera... I think you have one of those filters they used in the 1970 s washing powder commercials brand A- vs our new improved Drawbridge Magik tata makes it simply brilliant. I suppose your history in advertising photography is to credit.
