Z7 focus point lock?

I dont see anywhere to be able to lock the focus point on the Z7, often when I pick it up I will hit the pad and move the point from center, I see where you can just hit the OK button to center it but not to lock.

itis a major shortcoming with many autofocus cameras. My z7 misbehaves the same way moving both focus point and spot metering point. Totally unacceptable for a camera in this price range. an option to disable the "no joy stick" is overdue.

Gotta wait for the Z9, I guess...;)

I move my auto focus function off the shutter button, to the AF-ON button. Then I focus and re-compose the frame before taking the image. With that process I don't recall wanting the focus point locked. Different strokes.....
