Welcome to Week 20 of the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread. Here are the multiple levels at the Mall of America, Bloomington Minnesota. M8, 35mm f/2.5 Voigtlander Color-Skopar PII That is brilliant. Poetry in motion, without the motion. And such a great tonal range. it needs framing. arthur_mcculloch2
So, my second tranche of Jenolan Caves: It was a stately guest house, no TV, no microwave oven, just early 19th Century accommodation. Each floor (there were three) had a couple of lounge areas - all period pieces. Here is one, the floor we were on: And billiard rooms, etc. A trip to Bountiful. So the necessary stalagmites and stalagtites. My spouse gave me this aphorism: stalagnites, hold on tite, less you fall. Stalagmites, grow up mighty, from the ground. And finally, the exceptionally helpful 'waitress' at the dining room: All with my monochrom, this time with a 50mm summicron, with poor focus from me. Keep safe, keep well. These are the years of the plague. Regards, Arthur (apiarist1 - though the bees have now gone)

httpwww.photo.netbarry
JDMvW how many interesting "classic" cameras do you have? Do you work on them yourself? What year was this one made? reminds me of cross between a Contax and Retina in some weird way.
JDMvW
JDMvW how many interesting "classic" cameras do you have? Well, I haven't updated the spreadsheet in a long time, but as of my last update about 130 cameras, 150+ lenses, and lots of other crap. My repair skills are minimal compared to some here, but I have managed to get the majority working-- at least for a few frames. I still have series in the works about Arguses (Argii?), an East German AF lens, an early Pentax AF, and others. External conditions have delayed these. Maybe 'argus' is the latinised version of 'argos' (masculine, first declension), the plural, I expect, in the nominative case, would possibly be 'argoi'. Latin always eluded me: 'paro paras parat, the cat sat on the mat'. Argus has a long lineage, the beast with a thousand eyes. Regards, Arthur (apiarist1) According to Wiki the camera was named after the Greek diety "Argus" (all seeing or god of a thousand eyes). It states the plural is Arguses. JDMvW
You say Arguses, I say Argii, let's call the whole thing off. The 'plural' Argi was only an in-joke among people who were demented or injured enough to acquire such things. Like Octupi, it started as a 'funnin' ya' and turned into an commonly used term.. I know, I always thought occupy was a plural of occupant.
