I used the Photomic F Tn and then the Photomic FTN for a lot of years without similar experiences. We are all different. I agree that the F2 was an design improvement.

 

Agree highly. Never had a problem with either issue. And the F2 was a design improvement.

Couldn't tell you if I prefer the F2 or F3. Still have both and they still work, in fact I was using the F2 today. The F4 and 5, entered the Land of the Giants, not very different from D2x or D3

My senior year in high school I went in to debt to get an F2, MD-2 and two Nikkor lenses for about $1700.00, strong money at the time. I learned more about photography with that rig and a few other lenses I borrowed than I have since I got my first digital body. Still have some F2’s and other film bodies and several lenses at least one of which goes out with me every day.

I like the F2 as the ultimate mechanical SLR ever, and the F3 as the best electronic SLR ever. Both are superb cameras. Agree highly about the F4 and F5.
