Film Camera Week for May 7

Recommended Posts

Greetings, all and welcome to our new thread. Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start with a few from a roll of Ilford FP4+ that I processed and scanned earlier this week. Camera was a Rollei B35.

I had film in this little camera for a few weeks so I may have posted photos of some of the same locations in earlier threads.

A few (unexciting) shots from the recently acquired 1957 Konica II B-m rangefinder. This one has the F3.5 lens. Build quality of this camera is very impressive despite it being a bit quirky in operation. Film was Foma 200 developed semi-stand in Rodinal.

Some from a Nikon F4S with a 28-70mm Sigma UC f/2.8-4 lens. The film was Ilford FP4 Plus developed in PMK Pyro. This lens was included with another purchase and I wasn't expecting sublime results, but it's certainly an adequate performer.

More shots from my recent run of Film Ferrania's P30 film. All shot using my Voigtlander R3m with either the 4mm f1/4 Nokton Classic (MC) or the 50mm f3.5 Heliar lenses.

I posted some of these over in Street & Documentary" but here they are again. Meanwhile, I sent a few more rolls of film in for development. The lab received them yesterday so I should have some scans in soon enough. til, then... a few photos from the streets of NYC's Lower East Side. April 2021.

Well I did finally get out with the Nikon801S. I am always surprised to see how nice exposures can be and wonder with the latitude of B&W film why my "Sunny F16 pictures never match the modern electronic auto exposures. I had essentially "A" setting so it automatically and meticulously chose the proper SS. I also set the ASA for 80. Shooting with an SLR allowed some closeups that I don't usually do and I didn't exploit some of the nice features like on board +/- exposures. or the alternate metering options. I had the 50mm 1.8 Nikkor and a 28mm Kiron. I liked the heft of the camera it fell easily to the touch. It didn't feel cheap or plasticky etc. The auto-advance and shutter was quieter than the F301, though I like the looks of the older model. I used Agfa APX100 metered at 80 and developed in D76 1:1

Nice work from the F801s, Chuck! It's a camera I prefer in many ways to the later, bigger Nikons. Here are some samples from the Miranda Auto Sensorex I pictured over in the "What camera..." thread. The lens was the very good 50mm Auto Miranda E f/1.8, and the film was Ilford FP4 Plus developed in PMK Pyro.

Obviously not shot this week, but finally developed and scanned at any rate. I have to send 120 colour away to get done these days so tend to get a few rolls done at once to make the mailing costs more palatable.

Last sunday, between the bouts of rain, I took a short road trip to a German WW2 Decoy Airfield.

SF37 "Kamerun" was built to draw attention away from the Night Fighter airfield at Gilze-Rijen.

It worked as it was bombed on a couple of occasions, unfortunately causing civilian casualties in nearby village of Brakel as well.

In 2019 the local history group partially restored the site, including a steel mock-up Messerschmitt BF-109-G that was placed at the intersection of the 'runways'

new scans just in, a few more from around NYC's lower east side

Tri-X, VOigtlander R3m, 40mm f1.4 Nokton Classic. note the store in the background, on the left . This old car looks every bit the part of NYC's legendary

"mean streets".
