arthur_gottschalk
Just received a FOKOS rangefinder that I want to use with my Leica 1c. It looks absolutely new but trying to use it I really can't see much of anything. This can't be normal. In some cases, a very fine line is slightly visible but for the most part I get nothing, let alone a usable distance estimate. Anything I can do about this? Can it be repaired? SCL
Problems with many auxiliary rangefinders include misaligned mirror/prism, desilvered prism/missors, unclean or scratched protective covers (on the scene side - not the viewing side), and misaligned distance scales. You might contact DAG or Youxin to see if they could get things working. I've disassembled probably a dozen similar type auxiliary rangefinders over the years...some could be easily realigned, others had slipped mirrors...fixable, others weren't worth the expense and effort. Greg M
You might check with Dan Tamarkin. They always have those in-stock and they have to know someone who works on them.

Rick_van_Nooij
If you're feeling brave, the end-caps unscrew for cleaning, half-mirror replacement and re-alignment.
arthur_gottschalk
If you're feeling brave, the end-caps unscrew for cleaning, half-mirror replacement and re-alignment. Not brave but rather ham fisted. Need to find a tech for this.
