Best way to use Nikon AI Lenses with Nikon FTZ adapter on Nikon Z6

I was wondering what the most effective way to get the best metering out of my older AI Lenses with this adapter? I know that there is no aperture coupler on the Nikon FTZ.

Is there a way to “count the clicks” and set it manually? Or is there another way to get accurate metering with AI lenses on the Z6?

Hello. The metering is accurate with the FTZ and Ai lenses but the aperture is not recorded in the metadata. A little annoying when looking back at images, but exposure is fine.

Ah! So the metering is totally fine. The only "problem" is the aperture not recorded in the metadata. I can live with that! :)

With one of the previous firmware updates they also fixed the exposure bar graph when you're in manual mode, so you can use that too. People complain about the lack of aperture coupling but it just isn't a big issue. Not sure it's even a small one. I use my Z6 with microscopes, telescopes and old Nikkors with no problems whatsoever.
