Saturn and Jupiter shot during the day

It should not be surprising that you can photograph some of the planets during the day. But, I confess, I was a little surprised that you could do so. Surprised, but pleasantly so. ;-)

Seeing photographs of Saturn taken from Earth is quite romantic. It's hard to explain exactly.

I have never tried to photograph Saturn or Jupiter in the daytime. However, when I was in high school in about 1960, I took a field trip to Lick Observatory on Mt. Hamilton, outside of San Jose, California. A highlight of the trip was observing Saturn during the day. Here we are observing Saturn through the historic Alvin Clark 36 inch refracting telescope, built in the 1880's. See, Mt. Hamilton Telescopes: Great Lick 36-inch Refractor .

I probably used my Argus C3 to take the photo.

I'm surprised also, but you probably need a powerful telescope ! With lesser telescopes, any stray-light including street lights makes it nearly impossible.
