Fuji GFX Prime vs Zoom

Hello all, it's years since I posted here - happy to see my account still exists.

Anyway, I am seriously considering purchasing a Fuji GFX 50R, and I am trying to decide which lens(es) I should go with. I've been shooting LF and Hasselblad V-series for the last fifteen years or so, so all prime lenses. And I've always understood that zoom lenses necessarily produce lower optical quality than primes.

But the reality is that I don't really know HOW much difference there is, and whether it is going to be significant enough to justify the additional cost of going with multiple primes. So if I were to buy a GF 32-64 zoom, would there be a practical difference at 64mm compared to the 63mm prime?

Grateful for any thoughts.

Since no one else has replied yet, I'll put in my 2 cents. My understanding is that modern zooms have a come a long ways and I don't know that you'd notice much difference. But what I would do if I were you is look for reviews on the particular zoom to see what people think.

Most of the posts I see in the Medium Format forum deal with film cameras so you could also try the mirrorless forum to see if you get more responses there. Good luck !
