620 reel and instructions

I just picked up the brownie hawkeye and i believe it is the flash model. I was wondering if you knew of anywhere to get an instruction booklet. Or if anyone knows the aperture settings or shutter speed.

And 1 last question. Do you know where to get 620 film reels. I have one in the camera but I need one more so i can roll my own film.

I don't know of anywhere to get an instruction booklet except maybe a flea market but that camera is pretty simple. The button on the right, as you are taking a picture, is the shutter. The smooth one on the left has a "B" setting. If it is pulled up it allows you to take a time exposure("B" setting). In the down position it is the regular shutter. The opening is around f/14 and the shutter in good working order is 1/35th - 1/50th. There are a few ways to get some extra reels. If you find another camera that takes 620 there is almost always a reel in it or check at a camera store that might have some old cameras laying around or you can contact Film for Classics and buy a roll or two and when processed make sure you get the reels back, if you don't do your own processing.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth in on re-spooling 620 film.

I've acquired a Foldex-20 camera that will accept both 120 and 620 spools and thus greatly simplifies the process. First I roll the film on to an empty 120 spool and tape the trailing end of the film to the paper backing (in the darkroom) as the end is neared. Then re-roll the film on to the 620 spool. Once complete, I go back to the darkroom to remove the film just in case it is not wound tight enough on the spool to prevent edge fogging.

While I admit having only spied a few Foldex-20 at antique shops or flea markets, they can usually be picked for between 5 and 10 dollars-- a worthy investement.
