michael_vincent
I have just purchased a Zone VI modified Pentax digital spotmeter. Unfortunately, because I bought it used, I have no instructions for it. So...two questions. 1) What's up with the four internal corrective filters? Is there a way to employ them, or are they employed automatically every time the meter is used? I am most interested in being able to meter for infrared film. Is this what the infrared filter is for? If so, how do I use it? 2) Is there any benefit to using a hood on this meter to prevent flare? If I did, would it matter if the hood vignetted the viewing area (as long as it doesn't cover the center spot, of course)? O.K., so it was more like a few questions about two seperate topics. Thanks in advance for any info. It is greatly appreciated.
kevin_kolosky
Michael I have had one and used it for quite some. The filter pack is installed in the meter and therefore will be used each time you use the meter. you can use the meter for infared film. you will need to calibrate it just as you do for regular film. you do not need a hood to prevent flare. just hold your hand over the top of the lens when you use it and that will be sufficient. david_willis
Although it's pretty easy to figure out, if you want a manual for the non-modified model, it's available on the Pentax web site.
