You are invited to upload one or more of your landscape photos and, if you’d like, to accompany your image with some commentary: challenges you faced in making the image? your intent for the image? settings? post-processing decisions? why you did what you did? the place and time? or an aspect you’d like feedback on? And please feel free to ask questions of others who have posted images or to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like using words, that’s OK too—unaccompanied images (or unaccompanied words, for that matter) are also very much welcomed. As for the technicalities, the usual forum guidelines apply: files < 1 MB; image size <1000 px maximum dimension.

I figure this one needs some explanation:

First, I was reviewing my posts from last year and was startled to find that very few had much green in them. Since I live in one of the greener areas on Earth, this clearly had to be remedied. So it’s green.

Second, in recognition of how strange last year was, I figured a strange image was in order. So it’s strange.

Third, realizing that most of us can’t travel very far right now, I opted for an image that didn’t involve travel. So it’s my front yard.

Fourth, addressing the “what the heck is going on?” question: it’s a flash photo of a particularly heavy rainstorm.

and Fifth: why did I take it? Sheer curiosity. Would you have believed there would be that much variation in angles among drop trajectories?
