BEIER BEIRAX II circa 1958/59

The

E. Ludwig Meritar 105mm f/4.5 is, I think, a triplet lens but not exactly a Tessar

was not even Ludwig's best lens, nor was Ludwig the best lens-maker in the Dresden area. Its place in the lens 'food-chain' was making "affordable" lenses. They're mostly serviceable, however.

see also Cooke Triplet, Tessar and Planar: E. Ludwig Meritar 50mm f/2.9, Industar-61 L/Z 50mm f/2.8 and Nikon Micro Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 non-Ai (PK-3).

Thank you for the information. As i have said I am aware that it is not of the quality of my VOIGTLANDER SKOPAR and AGFA SOLINAR however I'm guessing that it may be not too bad stopped down.
