msitaraman
Does anyone have an idea of what I outfit I can get to serve as a small wireless mike (unobtrusive) that I can leave on the dining table/coffee table while I tape my family/friends from a distance? I'm not looking for the clip on variety, just to clarify. The Sony has a 12-bit input which is mono I think, but I'm not sure. Self powered units would be nice. Unobtrusive-not hidden-is key. I find that the PC-1 works well in family videography (despite having only 1 ccd) simply because it is so small and toy like. So the theme remains simplicity, but an improvement in sound. christopher_crowther1
You could try the Azden Wireless mike setup from B&H PhotoVideo in NY. I use the system when I need it. It is cheap but works fairly well. The unit is a 2 channel VHF so it is sometimes prone to interference. Whole setup with 2 mics, a transmitter and receiver runs about $150.
