rick_drawbridge
Since it seems to be a little slow on the thread this weekend, here are a few from the Braun Norca II folding camera I pictured in the "What camera..." thread. I took it out this morning loaded with Arista EDU Ultra 100, and the results were about what I expected. Dating from circa 1952, the camera has a 105mm Praxanar-Bayreuth f/3.8 lens, that really isn't up to the task of covering the full 6x9mm format, though the results might have been almost acceptable on the optional 6x6cm format. The film was developed in PMK Pyro. #1 #2 #3 #4
Tony Evans
For some reason I took out my old Zeiss Ikon 532/16 and loaded it with HP5+. Haven't used it for years and fouled up the complicated loading procedure, ruining the first 4 shots. Made matters worse by forgetting to re-set my exposure meter from 100 ISO thereby over-exposing by two stops. Old age and photography don't mix! The lens is a post-war 80/2.8 Opton Tessar with a registration number indicating it was made between 1946 & 1951. It has never performed well (sharpness & Contrast) in comparison with results I have seen from later models. I suspect it does not have the post-war improved coating. Jurgen has told me "there are Tessars and then there are Tessars". Anyway, here are a few mundane results after a little bit of PS "Help! Help". These images, from this 70+ years old lens, do suggest images of an earlier time. Developed in Pyro HD. SIDNEY HYDRO CLEAN (unreadable). FOR SALE. SURLY MERMAID. ON LAND. WAIMANGU. Bill Bowes
Hot off the scanner ! Agfa Record III (105mm Solinar), EDU 200 @ 125, Pyrocat HDC and V600 scan. Lens was Top Gun for the early 1950's but like Rick's (above) it is a bit soft on the edges unless stopped down to f22 / f32. Used a monpod, but a tripod is really called for. This shot was f11 @ 1/50 sec with self timer. Aloha, Bill
