Bill Blackwell Images
I was a victim of the mandatory evacuation order this week due to the Silverado Canyon Fires that broke out in South Orange County last Monday - the orders were just lifted and I returned home today. Since I didn't leave my camera behind I took some fresh snaps. Therefore, this week's W/NW Pic-O'-The-Week will start with some pics taken this week and just processed today. The haze in the first two pictures is in large part due to the smoke from those fires. All taken with my M10-P & 35mm Zeiss Distagon ZM. Last I knew approximately 14,000 acres burned. My home is fine - in fact no homes were lost in this particular fire. greg_jones3
I watch the wildfires and destruction with great sadness. Stay safe, Bill. I have been scanning images I have never printed before so these are "new" to me. Taken with Leica M4 and 50mm Summicron DR on Kodak Portra 160VC.

Glad you're safe and no loss. Good shots. The world has become the strangest place I've ever seen of late. Fires, floods, Trump, covid. I wonder when we'll get back to a new normal. Fauci now says 2022. At least he's smart, so he probably knows. We here are in single digit daily figures for new covid infections. I look at India, Europe, and America, and I shudder. Keep safe Billblackwellimages. Chase the light. It's all that's left. Regards, Arthur (apiarist1). I would pursue you on your co-minister, but that may not be appropriate here - I finished a postgrad dip in theology last year and am still pursuing koine greek (thu Bill Mounce Pty Ltd). I have an interest in 2nd - 4th century martyrdom and the domestication of aristocracy. Photos may come later.

I have several friends that live out past Cook's Corner and they were all ok, but it was a pretty near thing.

arthur_mcculloch2
Leica C Hi luis triguez.I would like to ask what was going on here: it's a strange image. It appears to be a mannequin, pissing. It is technically good. But every picture tells a story. What's the story? I have enjoyed your images. This one leaves me a bit confused. To parrot a right wing ratbag politician we 'enjoy' in Oz: 'please explain'. Regards, Arthur (apiarist1)
luis triguez
Hi, Arthur There is no story. There are many people who leave things next to the trash cans, in case it can help others. This is one of those cases. Someone left the doll, as is, and when I passed by I sawit it and I took the photo without moving anything. There are always children who need a toy and parents who cannot afford it.
