Triptych

I like each photo in its own way. Don't love the layout of the triptych. Did you try them side by side or one under the other at the same size? This looks a little pre-fab slide-show to me.

Nice compositions which highlight the architecture and era, nicely juxtaposing the straight and curved lines. All very geometric.

I find your shadowed areas muddy and keep feeling as if I want to see more of what's going on in the black areas. There seems to be someone sitting at the Bunny Burger table, but I'm not able to make out much. And the underside of the Pizza roof could offer more depth and detail which would make the photo feel fuller and more complete to me.

I think there are some awkward framings in the bottom two photos, though that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

I'm more of a traditionalist, looking for the three shots to be distinctly framed and joined independently, but visibly, rather than what appears to being printed 3 on a sheet. As for the photos themselves. the commonality joining them seems to be fast food, with at least two of them clearly from the same facility...but uncertain about the third. An interesting composition, but the content of each "panel" , as a photograph, too contrasty, hence not engaging enough for me. But a nice twist conceptually. All subject to personal interpretation, IMHO.

That was my first impression when looking at the images - and also my last as it completely killed my interest in the images: all I see is large featureless black areas. As indicated in a different thread, the used film is mostly to blame to this stark contrast in the resulting scans/prints.

Not what I was expecting from a Triptych, but after a google search for "Triptych Photography" in images! I can see the trend is that any three photo's presented together seem to qualify. As I see it the photo's follow a theme but the third is the weakest being cluttered with parked cars. Maybe some customers in the outdoor seating area may have helped.

Thanks to all for your critiques, opinions, & comments.

I began to edit this to say this triptych was made in f@ce book’s posting process, but then got sidetracked (darn work getting in the way of fun again) and couldn’t finish in time. It’s a bit ho hum, far as I’m concerned and there is close to zero control other than choosing a layout- although my original intent was indeed to make a triptych out of these. I was sort of looking for a program to do this but found I could do it easily in F B’s posting mechanisms.

I wasn’t certain which shots to feature in which position, so ended up going with the less obvious choice. In real life, looking at the place, the “Bunnyburgers” is on the left, “Pizza” on the right, and the round kitchen/cashier area and central building is at center.

if I had post PP skills at all I could possibly lighten up some of the dark bits- or if I could master metering and/or the zone system, maybe I could lighten up these shadow zones? Perhaps as mentioned it’s a by product of the P30 which does tend toward being contrasty unless handled far more judiciously than I “handle” it.

I thought it was obvious from my original post that these are all of The Red Rabbit drive in- not too far from home.

Anyway- really appreciate the feedback n stuff.
