Z7 Firmware update

Went to do a update this morning and when I DL the update I get the message , Blocked may be harmful to this device, Any one else? havent had this before with any nikon updates.

That is likely merely a standard warning since you are downloading an executable .exe type file. Since I download Python software regularly with the .py extension on Windows, every time I get a warning and confirmation for the download.

 

To be on the safe side, could you post the URL you are downloading from? Also are you on Mac or Windows?

Must be something with this laptop its getting up in age, ran it through with no problem, every things seems to work just fine, Thanks Shun

The problem tends to be on newer computers rather than old ones.

Mines over 5yrs old, but I often get these quirks on this, drives me up the wall sometimes.

Not so much for how old the computer is but rather the OS. I found newer Windows OS has more of that restrictions also if you have antivirus software that would interfere too.

Just remember that it could be a browser restriction. I use Google Chrome.

 

Are you blocked? May want to try a different browser, e.g. FireFox or Microsoft Edge. On Mac, maybe Safari.

Mine has Microsoft Edge and was coming up on the Microsoft defender, I just selected to Keep and it all ran fine after that.

The Chrome browser have got its own antivirus software Guardio and it comes up with a warning on 50% of the websites, which I have read the last 20 years with problems. I have a feeling it is just programme with this warning, so one can subscribe for the software at usd 6/month !
