Film Camera Week for September 11

Recommended Posts

Greetings all and welcome to our new thread. Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start with some shots from the Minolta XE. Lens as noted. Film was Kentmere 100 processed in Kodak HC110 dilution H and scanned with Epson V600.

Although I like Kentmere 100, I've found that (at least in HC110) it shows grain more when underexposed than does Ilford FP4+ or Kodak Plus-X. Here's an underexposed image. Light source was overhead fluorescent lamps.

propane ready for delivery, Minolta 100mm f 3.5 MD Rokkor.

The 100mm is a large and solidly built lens. It balances well on the Minolta XE.

One more.

Welcome to West Point. Same lens. I rolled down my window and snapped this one while waiting for the traffic light to change.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's images.

Here are some from a walk I took this morning with the Nikkormat FTn I pictured over in the "What camera..." thread. The lenses were either the 50mm Nikkor f/2 or the 28mm Nikkor f/3.5, and the film was Arista EDU Ultra 200 developed in PMK Pyro.

On Friday last a Pentax 6x7 body I'd sent away for service was returned to me and this morning, having recovered somewhat from sighting the invoice, I ran a test film with a lens I rarely use, the SMC Pentax 67 Fish-Eye 35mm f/4.5. It's a magnificent lens, but definitely reserved for special purposes. Here are three sample images; the film was Arista EDU Ultra 100 developed in PMK Pyro.

Some from a Canon T90 with a Canon 35-105mm New FD f/3.5-4.5 lens. The film was Arista EDU Ultra 200 developed in PMK Pyro.

Okay, Rick, how did I do? Pyrocat HD from glycol solution. Using your general approach.

The negatives weren't clean, but that was my fault for backing off on the Wash Aid and Photo Flo too far, and using a sponge of imperfect provenance. I usually do much better for neg cleanliness.

I really like the clarity, density, grayscale, depth, deep black, full white, etc. For my first try at Pyrocat, I'm extremely pleased.

Thanks again for all the help!
