Slide duplication film

Is there any slide duplication film still being made, and if so is there a way to acquire it?

 

If not, is there any way to make decent slide copies of Kodachrome and ektachrome, maybe by use of filters? By using Ektachrome E100, Provia100 or any other in-production slidefilm.

The last duplicating film I saw was Kodak's Edupe, which unfortunately is no longer available. The current Kodak and Fuji films are great for making transparencies but would likely have too much contrast to serve as duplicating film. Some photographers have had some success by pre-flashing the film with a weak burst of electronic flash to reduce contrast, but with the price of slide film so high one could spend a lot of money just to dial in the best technique. Even if it were still available some experimentation with proper filtering would have driven up the cost. If you don't need too many copies you might seek out a lab that still does duplicate slides. Or if you have a good scanner you could scan them and upload images to a lab that can make slides from digital files.

Since duplicating film is slower, it is more likely to still work if you find some.

 

But as above, I suspect that scan and make slides from scans is the best way.

That allows for any contrast adjustment you want to make.
