Recommended Posts

Temple of Debod.

in 1977 I did an experiment leaving the film in the developer for two hours at 20ºC looking for a lot of grain to remember the desert sand.

Canon F-1n. Canon FDn 28 + pola + orange filters. Kodak Recording at ISO 2000. DK-50 (straight) 2 hours at 20ºC

Nice job Luis. I'd say you accomplished your objective.

A great selection of work posted on this thread, so far this weekend. Good to see! Here are some from a Bronica S2a with the 135mm Nikkor-Q f/3.5 lens. The film was Ilford HP5 Plus developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V800 Photo.

Thank you Rick. It's still a work in progress, but hope is glimmering. Looking forward to continuing with Kentmere 100 which is hard to find in Canada.. Have an order coming from Henry's here, who seem to be the only ones with it in stock. I find Kentmere easier to handle in Pyro HD than FP4+.

Back for more fun. I used a camera that I've only shot the third roll. in The other shooter is a favorite combination. The rarely used camera here is the Yashica Lynx 1.4. This has a huge chunk of glass displaying proudly the name Yashinon. Reason enough to be used. I got this from a friend for only 10,00. Neither the meter or the Rangefinder are working, but the shutter is ok. I wanted to use the speed to shoot live music, My one outing was not soo good. The wider open you shoot, the less forgiving the focus errors.. So it has been mostly ignored the last five years or so. The other tried and true combination is the Werra III with the Flektogon. It rarely disappoints. I will note which is which in the caption, I processed the APX100 in D76 1:1 Little to no post-processing. As the Yahica has to use questime focus, I featured three of the four which I did "focus"...

OK got my last set of scans back, last night (Sunday) around 930PM! These are from the Voigtlander R3m. These were all taken using the 40mm f1.4 Nokton Classic lens, on Ferrania P30 film.

I guess you'd call FIlmFerrania's "new" 35mm film stock "boutique" and it seems to have taken folks a minute to get it sorted out. But holy cow, what a stock this is. The blacks are often super lush while the highlights just glow. It can be a bit extreme at times, but that's probably controllable to some degree. Many folks came out saying it should be shot in subdued daylight but these latest pix of mine were all shot in brilliant sun. You may recall some other recent photos from this stock and they were shot in varying conditions. I'll post some shots and try to show the tonal range & general characteristics of the film.

This roll was sent Blue Moon Camera who apparently worked with FilmFerrania to establish some protocols for developing P30. If you look at the FilmFerrania website, they have specific instructions and parameters for this. Although the 1st roll went to Richard Film Lab (outside "the loop"), and I thought they did a wonderful, completely acceptable job. If you feel like it, look back to compare shots from each lab.
