dave_s
Hi everybody. I haven't been here for quite some time, a blast from the past. I just wanted some advice. Is the go-to person for repairs still Mr Ken Oikawa? He's an amazing guy-- did some stellar work for me a couple of times, most recently about five years ago. Recent threads suggest he's still doing repairs, but I just wanted to confirm. OTOH, I don't want to bother him at his home if he's finally retired. (He doesn't use email, and his English is a little fractured over the phone.) Story is I have an 80 - 200/4 L lens, with a disconnected aperture lever (i.e. it doesn't actuate the diaphragm). That's probably an easy fix. I guess that should be combined with a CLA. Cheers Dave
jim_bielecki1
I haven't used Ken for a few years now, but as far as I know, he's still doing Canon repairs. I know that Steve's Camera Service Center in Culver City, Ca. also works on FD gear. You might try them.
dave_s
Thanks Jim. I'll give Mr Oikawa a call next week, and failing that, Steve's Camera Service.
JDMvW
Please let us know what you find out. It's nice to keep up-to-date on the shrinking number of repair options.
