12345
I was hoping someone could clarify whether there is a magnifier that is compatible with the Mamiya M645 1000S camera? I have been searching online on and off for months and only ever see listings for magnifiers compatible with the Super/Pro/TL or AF models. If there is such a magnifier, does it only fit on the PD prism viewfinder and not the CdS prism viewfinder? Is there a particular model number associated with it (e.g the magnifier for the AF models is called FD402)? Also, if anyone can link me to an online listing for such a magnifier (preferably from UK/Europe), that would be amazing. Thank you.

rodeo_joe1
I've never seen a Mamiya 645 eyepiece magnifier, but some years ago I bought a Yashica branded rightangle finder that fitted the Mamiya prism with a bit of bending to its metal clip (the RA finder that is, not the camera prism). The rectangular Mamiya finder window is a similar size to many other camera eyepieces, so making something else fit usually isn't difficult. hjoseph7
There is a magnifier on the waist lever finder for the Mamiya 645 1000s. The magnifier is to help you focus while you are holding the finder close to your waist.
rodeo_joe1
There is a magnifier on the waist lever finder for the Mamiya 645 1000s. The magnifier is to help you focus while you are holding the finder close to your waist. That doesn't really help when the camera is held in portrait orientation though. So a permanently fitted prism is practically a necessity with a 645 SLR.
