jim_mahon
I can't seem to figure out how to "rotate view" when I post a photo to my gallery. I'm still using film, so I upload my pictures from a CD. When I upload a photo, they are always uploaded as "landscape" (as MS Word would call it). Which is OK, but I take many pictures holding my camera "north-south" (or "portrait" as MS Word would call it) and I can't figure out how to "rotate view", so I can look at the picture w/o tilting my head at a 90 degree angle. Any advice on how to "rotate view" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jim
ragukl
Hi Jim - did you figure out how to rotate the pic in the site?
Sandy Vongries
Can't find a way to do it in the gallery - all of my uploads have come through as they were aligned with the camera or computer software. Sorry! Possibly some other member will know.
Tony Parsons
Wouldn't the OP have to rotate the picture to the preferred orientation using software on his computer prior to posting ?
Sandy Vongries
That is my thought, but there might be some other option I could not locate.

heatherreilly
I am also having this issue. It is turning the majority of my "portrait" oriented photos 90 degrees to the left (counter clockwise) to make it appear "landscape" oriented. It is not doing this consistently, and I can't seem to change it once it's uploaded. All photos are oriented correctly on my hard drive prior to uploading, so it's not a matter of it appearing the way it does on my hard drive. I should also add that all of my "landscape" oriented photographs are consistently uploading correctly- none of those have been rotated during upload. Please help! Tony Parsons
I too have recently had experience of this, from images taken with my Canon Ixus pocket camera. When I have processed them, they are correctly oriented, yet download incorrectly. I have a feeling this may be something contained within the EXIF data embedded in the image, but have no idea how to amend this (and basically can't be bothered to try !) What I do is create three copies of the image I wish to upload, each at 90 degrees (i.e. with portrait oriented images, which are the main culprits, one with the 'top' to the left, one as I want it to appear, and one with the 'top' to the right. It is then trial and error, posting each in turn and checking the orientation each time, and deleting the one(s) which are not as imagined. A little long winded, but it seems to work in the long run. HTH Good luck Welcome to the Forums, by the way.
