christian_irgens
While I am waiting for Adorama to finally get their act together and ship me my Kamlan 50 mm f/1.1 Mark II, I took out my Mark I and put it on my currently most used camera, the M 5. Not by any means great portrait art, but for faces the lens is certainly usable at f/1.1. Large window camera left, kitchen table daylight LED in small globe overhead. Just point and shoot.
christian_irgens
Since I more or less have the floor, let me put up another image. This was shot six days after the 2016 election. We were walking from the 53rd Street subway stop to the Plaza for a rather delayed lunch when the model wanted a picture in front of the suddenly infamous building. 5DSR, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art at f/4, 1/60 second, Auto ISO at 1,000. Speedlite at -1, Program AE. Again, mighty close to just point and shoot.
christian_irgens
Let me go for the Trifecta. Same 5DSR, EF 24-105 Mk. I, studio lighting. I should have put more light under the brim of the hat. Live and learn!

katsone
Katsone, were you sending or receiving a message in the bottle? Thanks to you for mentioning back button focusing a while back. It works a treat! The message in a bottle was a happy and surprising find. I just wish I could have retreived the bottle and seen what the message was. Probably "send more vodka!"
