I hope some wise soul out there could tell me what this threaded female port on the canopy of my Bogen-Manfrotto 3221 tripod is for. A level? Some other kind of accessory? Pics of my tripod below. AJG Posted May 9, 2020 Share Posted May 9, 2020 It is for a shoulder strap that has a 3/8" screw at one end and a loop that goes around the bottom of the tripod legs. Newer Manfrotto tripods don't have this any more, so I don't know if you can still buy one of the straps new. I carried a Manfrotto 3276 a lot of miles along with my 4x5 Toyo using that strap--my current 475B requires a carrying case with a shoulder strap. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
