Tony Parsons
Sometimes, when scanning half-tone images, I get these sort of 'dark snowflakes' during the scan, but the actual output is fine. Has anyone seen this before ? Platen clean, original source square to edges of platen.
Ed_Ingold
You are seeing a Moire pattern (aka aliasing), which occurs when the halftone frequency and pixel resolution are similar. Pick a resolution which is not an even number ratio with the image.
