You are invited to upload one or more of your landscape photos and, if you’d like, to accompany your image with some commentary: challenges you faced in making the image? your intent for the image? settings? post-processing decisions? why you did what you did? the place and time? or an aspect you’d like feedback on? And please feel free to ask questions of others who have posted images or to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like using words, that’s OK too—unaccompanied images (or unaccompanied words, for that matter) are also very much welcomed. As for the technicalities, the usual forum guidelines apply: files < 1 MB; image size <1000 px maximum dimension.

Here's another one that had been languishing in my archives, due to a bit of an exposure problem. This is one of our local waterfalls that's accessible only at low tide--not a lot of non-surfers know about it.

All of our local parks are "closed". Roadside trail heads are open and the majority of the trail system is open. Signs instruct us to maintain distance and wear masks. Virginia bluebells are in full bloom on slopes and along trail edges. These trails are usually crowded with equestrians, cyclists, runners, and hikers. On a sunny Monday afternoon there was wasn't much activity, but sometimes one act makes the day. We were walking down a path toward the lake shore. My husband pointed my attention to a couple at waters edge. He was down on one knee with a small box, looking at a woman with a face full of hope. An exuberant "yes, yes, YES" spread across the water and through the forest. We had stumbled into their moment and were only about 15 feet away. I asked if they would like a photo taken. He gave me his phone and I placed them in an attractive location. I took a couple of photos as the hugged each other. They were sweet and pleasant. We left them alone and went about our day. Later we saw them walking, hand in hand, among the bluebells.

Leslie, this image proves your worth - artistic and technical - as a photographer. Not that there's any doubt, mind you . . .

These images (shot w/Canon 40D EF17-40mm) are on the NY side off Niagara Scenic Pkwy. This is the Niagara River flowing from Lake Ontario to the falls and then into Lake Erie. It was October and beautiful!
