So, I have this highly rated bird book over birds of Europe and the Mediterranean. I was ready to throw it into the trash since I couldn't identify this little rascal of a bird that is a frequent visitor in our garden. He /or she also has a spouse and a pair of neighbors. All of them living in the vicinity of our garden. A friend on facebook helped me identify the bird. It turns out it is native to Asia. Not anywhere does it mention that the bird can be found in Europe. However, when I googled on bird sightings I found that this specific species thrives just in our neighborhood and in the one just east of us. It is a red-whiskered bulbul. It must have been a couple of captive birds that escaped and started a tribe.

Take care!

I've been busy doing some scanning of slides from the past but I saw this out the window today. Not much air traffic these days over Lake Michigan. This was with the 80D, 100-400 F/4 with 1.4x extender. Live view focusing. _MG_4985.thumb.jpg.9a817f7d293e5c8a1a8acc3a3b7bed72.jpg

IMG_2389rs.thumb.jpg.45c74ba6cd273dcad076f47741471733.jpg An old picture from a Canon XSi. Nice little camera for its time with the very fine Canon 10-22mm lens. I still have the lens but have updated the Rebel series to a newer model because I like the small camera body. I really like the lens but don't get around to using it enough. I always like the result. The next upgrade will probably be the mirrorless RP and phase out the full frame and 1.6 dslr bodies.
