CLE Rokkor 40mm Nikon 35ti

I took a Minolta CLE and a Nikon 35ti to the park for a test. I loved using the CLE but was surprised to see the images when I got them back. The Nikon is more pleasing to me. more gentle...more character. yes the rokkor is sharper and does not vignette.

The following shots were all shot on Portra 400 using the same exposure settings. Does the Rokkor have more contrast and therefore it loses some highlight detail? Or is this just an exposure issue because the nikon corrects exposure at the time of capture.

I read so much praise for the 40mm rokkor. This simple test has me curios about Leica glass in general. Can I expect similar characteristics?

What do you notice if anything?

Thanks!

Mike
