Trip to NYC was wonderfull.Did not take much photos.. for me :-)

Still need to work on most of them. Light at the theater was harsh, and completely different from Utrecht.

Very hard to get a good photo. A lot of photoshop in the coming days.

Theather (Beacon) was wonderfull. Sound was good.

Having to get chemo the next day after return was not good planning. Jetlag and chemo don't mix.

I'm very happy with the results. This lens is nice and sharp. The first one I bought wasn't and got returned.

TriggerHappy, I'm sure you could make a living at real estate photography! I like the view out the window.

Looks good, glad you got a good one this time. They are great little lenses when you have a good copy, I like mine too. If I had gotten a bad one on the first purchase I would have assumed it was a bad designed lens and sent it back never giving a try at a second one.

Cheers, Mark

I haven't heard of too many "bad ones" after the firmware update (version 1.2.0 in 2012) that was implemented shortly after they came out.

I don't understand how a firmware update could help a lens, except for auto-focus. The first one I bought was earlier this year. At least I have a real good one now.

Thanks. You are too nice.

The professional photographer that shot our last house used HDR. But I haven't been able to get the look I wanted using that method. Could be the settings I use perhaps?

Instead I just moved my 125 cm octa on the 600 Ws elincrome as far trough the door as I could. It worked ok and it didn't wash out the light from the window completely.

But if anyone does real estate photography with HDR and would like to share settings and post-processing methods. I'd be all ears.

Yes, it fixed a focus problem:

"Firmware Version 1.2.0 addresses the following phenomenon.

1. If pressure is applied to the lens barrel while the lens is mounted to the camera (pressure can be applied even while attaching

the lens cap while carrying the camera with the lens attached in a bag), the autofocusing function of the lens may stop working."

If I had bought a lens with this problem I would have considered it a bad copy.........at least at first, until I was told that it was just a firmware issue that could be easily fixed by an update. Fortunately my copy of this lens was already updated from the factory when I purchased it, so I never encountered the issue.

Thanks for your response. It's too late now since I returned it, but at least I'm happy with my current lens. I suppose had I tried live view focusing that would have pointed out the problem, although I'm not sure I could do that with the 5D Mk ll.

I've used HDR in Lightroom a few times and am happy with it, but I'm not an HDR expert nor a real estate shooter. I'm not sure you'd be able to get that look without auxiliary lighting, though.
