I’m new here. Still waiting for my page to be verified ( and waiting..)

 

My old site had a policy change that meant deleting a third of my photos so I had to find a new home, and I hope it’s here.

 

I may have one of the last film hold outs, but I finally got dragged into the digital era. I really miss the smell of darkroom chemicals and the feel of Seagull paper on my fingers, but it may mean less cancer so that’s a plus.

 

Anyway, good to be here (pending). hi everybody.

Does anyone know how long I have to wait to get my account validated? It's been 2 days. If I pay, will it automatically get verified?

The site has issues and some people have waited ages for validation (literally weeks) so I wouldn’t pay any money until you are validated.

 

Thanks. I just went ahead and paid the three dollars and was instantly validated. If I cancel my subscription I don’t know if they’re going to un-validate me or not.

 

Sorry to hear that they’re having some issues because I do like it here. I guess I need to keep copies of all my comments and notations in case the site ends up shutting down.

That is quite the understatement. There's one volunteer mod (Sandy) who at least will respond and look into it, and I realize he's doing his best, but the rest of the staff seems to be hopeless and helpless.

Hi. I'been on here a long time. I always renew with PayPal. Afterward, I look at my account and the new, extended expiration date shows almost immediately

One of the best features of the site is the "no words" forum where you can see if you can come up with images that correspond to the theme. I like it because it allows you to see a really fine bunch of pictures.

 

For those of us who like to present "articles" on topics like historical cameras, most other sites tend to break down into a series of "tweet"-like posts, rather than the 'magazine-like" discussions possible here.

 

It ain't perfect, but nothing is.
