Advance apologies for submitting yet another photo of cars and motorcycles... but here goes. :)

This is another from my Hasselblad 500cm, shot on Kodak Ektar 100 film.

My most "liked" image from TROG to date, as far as The Internet goes- and I personally am still amazed at the color on this. Little (or none) of which has anything to do with photographic "reality". If there is such a thing.

After mulling it over for a while, I thought I'd go ahead and submit this for y'all's critique. Sorry to bore you to death with endless photos of similar subject matter but hey- "motofoto" (as I call it) is a big part of what I do. I mean, to overstate the obvious.

As an aside, the lab I sent this film to, Old School Photo Lab in NH, has a $10.00 upgrade scan option, so I gave it a try. On medium format 120 roll film at 6cm X 6cm, their normal scan results are 2416 X 2380. The upgrade scans come. in at 4832 X 4760. Probably, this is a convo best suited for elsewhere but wow, it sure feels like these upgrade scans are significantly better than the base level option? This version of this photo is a copy/paste file link from Zenfolio, as these upgrade scans files are 11-13mb in size!

In any event, without further ado, I present the following, straight out of the camera with no post processing:

Thanks in advance.

I think you're a little too close here. I do love the color.

As far as "straight out of camera" is concerned, there is no such thing. These are positive images, not negatives. Since a lab did the inversion from negative to positive, they did the post-processing for you.

Ah, OK then, let's amend that to "no post processing done by me".

Thanks very much.

Despite recently giving up motorcycling after 4 decades, pics of them do nothing for me. But I will say your 'stairs' photo in the No Words section, Color Pictures That Could be B&W, is the most etherial and lovely photo I've seen in years. Big congrats on that one!

I see this as a study of details. The background adds by giving us a setting, but I love the patina and grub of this old, well used HD. The archaic nature of the shift lever linkage, the worn nob, the paint, showing fuel-spill stains that haven't been polished away. The faded colors, the grease, dirt and rust. I love all that. This image may be aimed at us gear-heads, but it does tell a story. A brand new HD would be a total bore, but this is intriguing and fun, at least for me.

There are a few things going on here that I love. The close up view of one rider and bike, with the other one slouched and looking to the side, tells a story. There’s action going to happen soon but right now we’re waiting and there’s a mix of anticipation and boredom that’s interesting. The color palette is great, with the one red tank and the blues and greens that are all a bit muted.
