derek_thornton1
Going to Moab Utah next week. We will be hitting Arches, Canyonlands and Capital Reef. We want to spend some time there at night as well and I am just wondering how crowded these parks are at night? Not just the begining of October but June/July as well. Thanks! derek-thornton.artistwebsites.com
michaellinder
Sorry, Derek, having never been to a national park at night, I have no answer to your question.
SCL
It's been quite a while since I camped at national parks, but as I remember summer, when kids are out of school, is much more crowded in the evening than off season. I never had issues in October, excepting for occasional bad weather. Some parks, as I recall, close at night except for campers who setup earlier in the day, so best to check ahead with the ranger offices - a lot of info is available online.. Glenn McCreery
All three of the parks that you mention have clear skies at night and opportunities for nightscape photography. Capitol Reef is the least crowded of the three and has numerous rock formations that would make good foregrounds. Capitol Reef at dusk
