Visiting San Diego For a Few Hours

Hello All,

 

I'll be coming San Diego this coming Friday and will have the opportunity of some free time in the afternoon/evening staying at the Wyndham near the cruise terminal. This will be effectively my first chance to explore downtown San Diego. I'll get to the hotel by 11 in the morning or so and need to be back by around 5 in the evening.

 

Any good spots or situations for photos (from a "local" point of view) that are within walking distance or at most a short Uber/Lyft ride from the hotel that I can check out within that time frame?

I'd personally consider this "cutting it too close".

 

Even to get to one site and back will take travel time and leaves you no option if there's traffic or other problem.

San Diego Zoo is very close if you are at the Wyndham Bayside. Used to be a superb zoo.

You could visit the aircraft carrier, or shoot the Coronado bridge, but I can’t resist a view from a rooftop bar and would check out the one in the Hyatt..
