ljherrero
Neither in the place where I usually look for information and camera manuals (thank you, Butkus), nor in any other site, I have found the manual of the Data Back D-7 for the Contax 167 MT. Can any charitable soul tell me where to download it or send me directly the user manual in pdf? Thanks
chuck_foreman1
Let me first admit that I have no real idea... but I think "optional" items are covered in the original owner'S manual. Have you checked the 167 manual and the glossary? I seem to recall the FXD had an optional databack and it was in the manual for the camera. ljherrero
... I have the user manual of the Contax167 MT and, indeed, there is a brief quote of the possibilities of the Data Back D-7, but not a real user manual (as I have seen for other D-5 models, D-6, D-8, etc.)

I would assume the information therein would easily be applicable to the D-7; bit just guessing. Have you tried? What problems do you encounter? ljherrero
I find more similar (by key scheme used) the D-8; I will try. I just wanted to have the D-7 so I did not have to assume equivalences. I'm waiting to receive two CR2025 batteries (the ones used by the D-7) to try it.

Really simple and (more or less) intuitive: all the operation of the Data Back D-7 is summarized in this paragraph of the manual of the D-6: the imprinting mode is toggled on and of using the MODE (M) button, and reseting of the date an time (and Memo) is accomplished using SELECT (S) and SET buttons. grahambuxton-smither
Hi -sorry to be a bit late to this party. The D-7 is in a whole new league when it comes to the Contax data back series as it not only offers date imprinting, but acts as an intervalometer, provides extended long exposure, a much wider series of data printing options and is good until 2079! The English language instructions run to 30 pages although I do also have a simple 2 page quick guide to many of the features if that may help. Hello Graham, Hope I'm not missing something, perhaps a fllow-up to this post, but can you advise if these greater capabilities include printing exposure data between frames, as the D-8 does for my Contax AX? If so, would it be possible to purchase a pdf copy from you of the complete manual? Many thanks! Steve
