djino_djino
Hi, I am looking for photoshop learning courses, in video, for photography: retoutching images, workflow, etc. Searching the web, I came across the KelvinDesign video courses (https://www.kelvindesigns.com) . They are pretty pricy. Anyone has used them? what do you think? If there are other complete courses, I am interested too. Thanks
Jochen_S
I wouldn't go searching for a complete course. For a simple reason: Photoshop can do way too many things, i.e. imaginable results, for a single person to really know, like and teach them all. To me Photoshop pops up pretty late and only occasionally in the workflow. It is crucial to find your(!) way to not end there, with each and every image you ever took. Do you have culling / sorting software you use? / A stand alone RAW batch converter? - Since you have to rent current PS from Adobe, I suggest to master Lightroom first and dive into Photoshop later. - Importing a file takes time. Tweaking WB and exposure too, so better have those things happen as automated as possible while you aren't staring at that screen. I like Piximperfect's YouTube channel. - He deals with pretty advanced projects but seems follow-able to me. For cheap and not entirely video, only "video supported", I'd buy the book by Tony & Chelsea Northrup. Upon teachers: Every one of them needs to live & eat. - The more people they reach, the less they are able to charge. I got my ultra basic "prep a picture for newspaper printing" Photoshop drill at vocational school, 18 years ago. I'm sure that work along videos are a good medium to learn such. To master everything & the kitchen sink by such a course, I'd worry about your stamina and assume that a videos supported book makes becoming somewhat "project oriented eclectic" easier. Once you got the most basic stuff down you should be able to learn from bits you find somewhere on the web. (Yeah, I am cheap and not really believing into overpriced education).
