Andrew Garrard
I spend a lot of my time hitting refresh on the forums and, noting that the topmost thread has been updated, clicking on it. Approximately ten times a day, what happens is that the page loads, I click where the top thread is on the screen, then the thin (black) Creative Live banner right at the top of the page loads, the whole page shifts down by a few pixels, and I end up clicking on the "(sort threads by) Title" link instead. I then swear under my breath and have to click on "(sort threads by) Last Message" to get everything back again. This would be fine if it happened occasionally. But it happens very, very often (I'm not kidding about ten times a day - the rest of the time I successfully remember to wait for the page to jump), on both desktop and mobile, because the Creative live banner always loads a few seconds after the rest of the page is ready. And it's driving me nuts. Assuming the banner has to be there (alongside all the other Creative Live advertising - aren't I a paid member to avoid this?) could the page layout at least include a default height field, so that when the banner loads it doesn't cause the whole page to shift, please? Can I assume it's always a Creative Live advert, and the size is (or could be) known in advance?
technicalsupport
OK, I'll check with the higher ups, it's supposed to show only once for new visitors or non-logged in users ( I think )
Andrew Garrard
Just to be clear, I can live with a relatively unobtrusive Creative Live advert if I must, but fixing the page jumping behaviour would be really nice. :-)
Andrew Garrard
Mild nudge: Are we any closer to resolving this? I still frequently end up clicking on the "(sort by) title" instead of the top forum item, because the bar appears an indeterminate time after the rest of the page.
