Cheap Ikontas and other stuff worth a look

I was at Vermont Camera Works in Pittsford, VT the other day, where there is a small quantity of very inexpensive old lenses and the like, some for $5 apiece, and some other stuff, and noticed that he has a half dozen or more old 35 mm. Zeiss Ikontas (flip out, no visible bellows, no rangefinder) in the bin. I believe they are in various states of disrepair, and did not have time to look too closely, but if you're a collector of such things it might be worth sending an email. He also had at some point recently, a large batch of old Pentacons, lacking lenses, but some of which might still be there and still work, and not too long ago a batch of Soviet era Leica clones in various states of dishevelment. Needless to say, all of these things are a bit shabby for collectors, which is why they're there, but it's often good for tinkerers and users. I can pretty well guarantee that there are no good Nikon lenses to be had (and of course it's only a coincidence that I have a closet full of slightly shopworn old Nikon lenses....) but I was tempted by the basketload of Ikontas.

I've kind of backed off on old film stuff, try to avert my eyes when I go in there these days, but if you're looking for that kind of thing, it's worth checking out. There is, of course, also some actually good and more expensive stuff too, but that's another story.
