uid701
Hello. My wind lever on my Pratica MTL5B got jammed. I can't seem to open the camera to take a look at the mechanics. After removing the 4 screws, how to I remove the "grip" on the lever, shutter speed selector and rewind botton so I can lift up the chassi? Thank you! JDMvW
a little post on its close cousin: PRAKTICA MTL 5B REPAIR (with some links) Butkus has some manuals, the one I have is in German, however.
m42dave
Here's some repair information on the MTL-3: Praktica MTL-3 film rewind lever disassembly I've taken apart a Praktica LB, and on that camera the cover plates on the speed dial and film advance lever are glued on. A drop of alcohol or naphtha can help soften the glue, then lift up with a pin. In some cameras, the jam in the mechanism may actually be on the bottom. It might be worth taking off the bottom cover first to look before attempting the top.
