W/NW Pic-O-The-Week #15

Recommended Posts

Tell us its provenance.

I was walking on Main Street at 11am on a Saturday morning. There was a party going on at a pub/restaurant called "The General Public". It is usually closed on Saturday mornings. I asked the people in the photo what the occasion was. They said it was a "hair party" for someone's birthday. Everyone wore a wig. That is all I know.

Yes, you're right, Allen Herbert. Out of focus. I put it down to my age, and failing eyesight. To paraphrase an important icon in Oz: 'we all grow weary, and the years do condemn'.

Now Uhooru, they are good shots. The first is evocative: is this the start of the Donald's wall? I don't see razor wire (one of Oz's great contributions to population movement control, and imprisonment - I think by Lysaght Pty Ltd). Evocative - we here in Oz are entering an election where 'border control' (whatever that means, as if we had borders anymore. Capital moves freely around the world; goods move freely around the world; those with wealth move freely around the world; it's just the poor and oppressed who can't) will be a significant card on the table. The third shot is just magic. It too is evocative. Arthur

Allen Herbert, here's a more focussed version. Done with FP4 (developed in Ilfosol - I'm trying to use my stock up before going over to the developer suggested by Bill Bowes - if I can reproduce his impressive tonal range, I'll be laughing) and my M6, with a 50mm lens (probably a summitar) and a bit of flash. Flash always helps failing eyesight and the shakes. A surrogate auto-focus. Arthur. Painted man.641239828_pubApril597-2.jpg.8585bd096f6cf0ef669b047c53dee7c0.jpg
