Heritage Cameras
Just interested in the prices of konica manual hexanon lenses at the time of the late '70's to early '80's out of curiosity preferably in England though prices in the states would be interesting too There's a scan of a B&H ad from 1979 (part of a very useful resource for the period) including Konica prices here: B&H Photo 1 sm 2 I don't know of a similar resource for UK prices, but I'd be happy to check some old magazines here if you like. Is there anything specific you're looking for?
JDMvW
There were some British equivalents of B&H such as Jessops (still on-line at Online Photography Store - Jessops, anyhow). Old British camera magazines have ads listing items.
manuel_odabashian
I actually had an item stolen. For reasons I won't go into I did not realise until just a few days ago. I was just curious about prices but the item was a 57mm f1.2 hexanon lens serial number 7509741. What's the best way of making people aware of this? orsetto
Rough estimate, using Bank Of England exchange rate + inflation calculator for 1979: the 57mm f/1.2 Hexanon would have retailed at approx £85, exclusive of VAT, give or take. The lens is somewhat rare and sought after today, changing hands for approx £300 on eBay or thru vintage camera dealers. Not far off from their original value when new in 1979 (adjusted for inflation). Unfortunately, the few stolen camera registry sites primarily rely on serial numbers embedded in photo files made by a digital body. Tracking a vintage non-digital lens will be rather difficult, beyond whatever help the local authorities can provide.
