W/NW Pic-O-The-Week #11

Good to see you again Allen Herbert. A good shot. I like it. Again Billblackwellphotography, clarity, precision, and control of tones. Bravo. Bill Bowes, a great shot. Uhooru, I like the composition, but the colour saturation is a bit too much disco lurex for my taste. This was obviously taken some time ago, as I'd guess there are no North American grapes on the vine at the moment, let alone leaves. My two shots were taken earlier this week at a birthday party at my local club. Two of the participants. Monochrom M, voigtlander 75mm open to about f2.8/3.5, cropped. Regards, Arthur

And will add another. Some of you may have read Pierre Bourdieu's Distinction. He showed a photo of a haggard woman to people of different socio-economic strata. Those on the margins, the poor, said things like 'she's had a rough life'. Those who were comfortable and wealthy said things like ' her face shows great wisdom and a life well lived'. This one is of another of the celebrants at this week's birthday party:

It was a very busy (non photographic) week or two. So I have chosen one of the first pictures I took when I went Leica. I prefer sticking to genuine "pictures of the week", which I will get back to next week. Promise? Promise.

Hillcrest farmers Market, Vancouver.

Leica M Typ 262, Summicron 35mm

JDM, again great beauty. What, pray tell,is a 'transmogrified' zorki' I have a zorki 5 retrieved this weekend from storage for a foray. And an 'industar made into an elmar'. Are you an alchemist? When will bullshit be turned into gold? I jest. Good shot. I'm not sure what I think of the lieca 'glow', but you have done well.

Michael-levy|3. I like it. Your ethnography of Vancouver is, to be honest, quite breathtaking. As said before, are you planning an exhibition?

MarcelRomviel, damn good shot.

And, good you are back, Allen Herbert. I hope all is well. Regards Arthur. Keep shooting.
