This Great Horned Owl showed up one evening in my neighbour's BBQ house here in Punta Colorada, Uruguay. The field guide says the size of these owls is between a crow and a goose. This one was very much towards the goose end of that scale. By the way, the Spanish word for owl is búho. It was gone the next morning but it left a large regalo.1815324382_GreatHornedOwl2-Edit.thumb.jpg.8290100fe0548c95236a6a9ac359d82c.jpg

Queen Angelfish swimming around sunken plane wreckage at 65 feet. Taken last week on a dive trip to Roatan. This was one of several species of angelfish chasing one another around the plane.

Wow! At 65feet! The light there must have been very low but your photo is spectacular!

This is the 9th consecutive year that Athena (Great Horned Owl) has returned to same nesting location in a planter 10-feet above entrance to Lady Bird Wildlife Center in Austin, Texas. She is now sitting on eggs. Eggs will hatch mid-March and we will see owlets in April. I volunteer there as the OWL DOCENT.DSC_6292.thumb.jpg.f1c75fb0ed0746e7416669b61eae0b51.jpg
