mikikoanhoco
Hello, As said in my pres, I'm a recent happy owner of a D700. New to DSLR, I'm still at the begining of the learning curve and noticed a flaw on my camera. There's a few hot spots on jpg pictures. They are always at the same location, more noticeable in darker areas and more also while ISO grows. I thought first that they were hot pixels on the sensor but to my surprise these are not visible at all on the NEF files !? So thinking about a software bug I tryied to disable, Dlightning, Noise reductions, while it has some effect on intensity they are still there on the Jpg and nothing on the NEF... Sofware version is 1.0. Any idea, or anything back from your memories from the old D700 birth time ? Cheers Mikiko. How come Canon didn't include IBIS with their new R body? rodeo_joe1
Sounds as if the camera may have an incorrect hot/dead pixel 'map' in its memory. Google 'Nikon pixel mapping' to see how to re-map the sensor.
rodeo_joe1
BTW, the latest firmware versions are 1.04 and 1.03. I'd strongly suggest updating the firmware.
