j._gewirtz
Hi All, My GX85 eventually stops displaying autofocus boxes or making exposures when I am in the midst of taking a batch of pictures. I press the shutter button and nothing happens. Then I turn the camera off/on and this resolves the problem until the next time. I use live view exclusively and mostly an Olympus 17/1.8 lens. Shutter is configured for half-press and either mechanical/electronic or electronic actuation only. I changed the settings to allow exposure without locked focus but doing this made no difference. I think this problem occurs most frequently in low light but it could be that that's because I take most of my pictures in low light. I can't tell if the camera is faulty or if I simply need to change a setting somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be going on? Thanks. walter_palmer
Sure sounds suspect. Check special settings or effects. Manual, 1/60, 5.6, center focus w/ tiny box. Good light and contrasty target. Sometimes my focus point gets moved inadvertently and I have issues similar. I've toyed with turning off the touch screen, but I like the eye-level focussing wizardry. At least when it works, which is 95% of the time. j._gewirtz
Thanks for the reply. I will try your suggestion. I notice that when the problem I described is occurring none of the usual lines or grids or other indicators that I have the screen configured to display are actually displaying. So perhaps there is a software or hardware issue.
walter_palmer
And you have gone through the whole sequence of screens with the "Disp" button? If not, make sure you are on the "right" rear LCD screen (there are about 5-6 I think).

Camera won’t focus on anything and therefore shitter button is useless. A quick touch to center focus point does it. Annoying.
